Linda Binns has been involved in family portraiture for most of her life and has turned her passion into a successful, full-time career. Strongly influenced by her mother, a highly accomplished artist, she turned to photography as her personal expression of how she sees the beauty of our world. In addition, her love of creating artful photographic memories has been strengthened by her conviction that family images are legacies meant to be shared and treasured throughout generations. How often have we looked in the mirror and noticed that we are starting to look like our aunts or uncles? We may then seek out old photographs that may have been tucked away by a thoughtful family historian and perhaps note that our children strongly resemble our mothers or grandmothers. "I remember a set of framed prints on my older sister's staircase of both her and my grandmother captured at the age of six. Except for the obvious difference in their respective clothing styles, both little girls could have been identical twins." What an incredible emotional and visual bond and sense of identity those simple family photographs create!
Lisa Binns-Tolbird, both daughter and partner to Linda, has an extensive knowledge and love of all things technical and computer related. Lisa is the proud mother of two young children. She enjoys the ability to combine her technical skills in the image artistry of the moments captured by her mother, Linda and is the driving force in keeping Binns Photography on the cutting edge of technology as computer-based innovations continually develop. She is currently in the midst of completing a degree in graphic arts and enjoys putting a modern twist on the timeless art of catching and preserving that special moment in time.
